Man Robbed in Parking Lot of Moreland Avenue Krystal

Victim told police that gunman took $900.

ORMEWOOD PARK — A man waiting on a friend in the parking lot of the Krystal restaurant at 415 Moreland Ave. said he was robbed by a gunman Saturday afternoon, Atlanta police said.

The victim told police he was at the fast food eatery to meet a friend. The victim said he happened to be waiting outside his vehicle and was chatting on his mobile phone and as he finished the conversation, he saw another man exit a newer model white Jeep Cherokee on the other side of the parking lot.

The victim told police the man approached him asking to use his mobile phone and when the victim agreed, the man pulled out a black-colored gun with a tan handle and demanded his money.

The victim, whose son was in the back seat of his vehicle, said he had $900 and turned it over. The gunman ran back to the Jeep, which had three other occupants, and fled the scene.

The victim gave chase but lost track of the Jeep at some point and returned to Krystal to call police.

That would be Ormewood, not Ormwood. And why the hell is anybody carrying 900 bucks at a Krystal?

How about that's none of your business why someone is carrying 900 bucks. That has nothing to do with anything except to somehow blame the victim. In any case, it is none of yours or anyone else's business.

And it's Krystal, not Krystal's. I don't believe I have any further edits.

This entire story sounds very shady, Drug deal gone wrong, perhaps? This just does not sound right at all.

Why does it sound shady? Do you pay attention?

Some people don't keep their money in banks, for various reasons. Some people carry lots of money with them all the time. Some people don't have direct deposit and some people can't afford to wait a few days for their checks to be deposited into their checking accounts (if they have them) and so cash their pay checks immediately.

Just because you lack the imagination to think of various reasons (I can easily think of 50 off the top of my head) - legitimate, legal reasons - why someone would be carrying around so much money, does not mean that what you think is true. Of course it doesn't sound right, someone got robbed!

You're like the person who says the girl who got raped was asking for it, because the whole story sounds shady. I swear to god the only exercise some people get is jumping to conclusions.

and then returned to the Krystal and called Police? Standing outside his vehicle in the parking lot using his cell phone? $900 cash on his person? This guy just kept making brilliant decision after brilliant decision.

@Larry, given the two typos pointed out by a reader and then corrected by the author, isn't it likely that the author also forgot to include the word "in" before "vehicle", and the guy was actually in his car when the robber pulled out his gun?

If you have never hung out in the Krystal parking lot with $900 in cash, you haven't lived.
