Kirkwood Bar & Grill Reflective Windows Case Rescheduled For Third Time
Restaurant owner gets 60-day delay because he says his father is dying.
David Johnson, the owner of the Kirkwood Bar & Grill has had his tinted windows case rescheduled for the third time.
Johnson's attorney, Alan I. Begner, asked for the hearing to be rescheduled because Johnson's father, who lives in California, is dying.
Atlanta Municipal Court before Chief Judge Crystal A. Gaines rescheduled the hearing to May.
In February, Johnson had the case rescheduled to March 12 because he said Begner could not attend the proceeding.
The case centers on Johnson's use of reflective tinting in the windows of the bar at 1963 Hosea L. Williams Dr. NE.
Neighbors say it violates city codes regulating commercial districts because reflective tint doesn't allow a view of what's going on inside. It also violates the bylaws that govern Kirkwood Station, the mixed-use residential and commercial development where the Kirkwoood Bar & Grill is an anchor business, they charge.

The funny thing is that I saw him and his car in front of the restaurant last night. Once again, he is not on the up and up. Not sure how he is able to stay in business when there are no customers.

It is possible to launder a lot of cash with a business such as this. It there are few customers it raises the question if the place is legit.
