The leader of the notorious ‘Jack Boys’ gang, Tamario Wise, was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison without parole for his part in a reign of criminal terror that included the rape of a Grant Park woman and the murder of a Virginia-Highland man.
The Fulton County Superior Court judge also sentenced Wise also to 14 additional life sentences, plus an additional 290 years, Channel 2 Action News reported.
A jury retuned guility verdicts on Oct. 11 against Wise, 19 and a co-defendant, Robert Veal, 18.
The pair, along with another convicted gang member, Fernandez Whatley, 22, were hit with a 90-count indictment that included:
- Murder: Wise and Veal in the November 2010 murder of 39-year-old Charles Boyer of Virginia-Highland
- Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Rape: Wise and Veal in a home invasion and attack of a Grant Park woman
- Kidnapping, Participation in Criminal Street Gang Activity: Wise, Veal and Whatley
- Armed robbery, Hijacking a Vehicle, Aggravated Assault, False Imprisonment and Cruelty to Children: Whatley and Wise for a home invasion and robbery in Benteen Park
Whatley was sentenced to 30 years in prison plus 40 years of probation, Channel 2 said.
Veal who did not apeear in was not in court Wednesday is expected to be in court on Monday. He faces up to eight life sentences, plus 140 years behind bars.

Saw on the news that Wise had been smiling and smirking all through the trial and sentencing. No sympathy from this animal. Glad this has all come to an end and we never have to see their disgusting faces again.

@Some Guy, what do you mean it will make you weep for the species?? Plus why are you stalking his sisters page, who does that? Of course she will always support her brother no matter what. He's too young to understand that he will be in prison for the rest of his life. You never know what someone goes through so stop judging and pointing fingers...you don't know his story!

@Tippy - I weep for any species that produces a band of unapologetic violent, murderous, thieving rapists like Wise and his ilk. I weep for any species that produces those who's comments on a public FB page relay utter sociopathic indifference to the victims of Wise's criminal rampage, blatant and ignorant bigotry, devotion to a culture of criminal enterprise, complete lack of any acknowledgement of accountability for what he has wrought or their part in feeding that fire and finally I weep for the diatribes posted on her page, other blogs and even spoken on video.
I'll remind you that all of this is posted on a public page which she chooses to publish. One can no more "stalk" that page than the content here on the Patch.
There's a big difference between support and blind devotion. She and others posting on her wall have blamed everyone under the sun for her brother's choices cursing about them the whole way with some going so far as to publicly threaten witnesses in the case.
As far as what young Mr. Wise understands I could not give an ounce of compassion for his plight. He is the lowest of the low and I hope he gets everything that's coming to him over the next 70 years or so. If he doesn't understand that stealing, assault, battery, murder, rape and more have consequences then shame on him and shame on the family that raised him.
I know all of the story. He has had well over a year to tell it. He ran from his accountability but the jury didn't. Good riddance.

@Some Guy. I remember seeing her page back when the caught these guys. I looked at it again and I need a translator to understand those posts. That culture is lost.
They are actually proud that he does not have a look of remorse on his face during sentencing. It's infuriating.

The look in Wise's eyes on the FB profile seem soulless and empty. Nature/Nurture...who knows but him as an individual looks disturbed and with all those face tats, he just didn't care.

What a shit show. I feel for the families and friends. Been following this case for a while now. How can anyone be so smug when they are 19 and will be in prison until they die? I don't think I could stand behind my own brother if he did this, only if he were remorseful.

Just got word that another one of the Jack Boys gang members, Robert Veal, was sentenced this morning to life without parole plus six life sentences and 40 years. Veal joins Wise in never seeing life outside of prison walls.

I knew them personally there were good people just really misplace in a bad society where what they did is means of survival where we come from swats is rough with no help if someone would help the community people would be better Mario was young just got out of prisipn less than a year before he started this "crime spree" he was not the only party whitney was his girlfriend she was right by side on everything why didnt she get same charges
