This week, we focus on the Summerhill neighborhood, home to Turner Field.
It's Bounded by I-75 and Pollard Boulevard SW to the west, Fulton Street SW and I-20 to the north, Grant Terrace SE and Connally Street SE to the east, and Ormond Street SE on the South.
The neighborhood, which traces its beginnings back to 1885, was home to free blacks and Jewish immigrants. For a time, it prospered and was considered home to the most prominent business and civic leaders.
Among the community's most prominent sons: Herman J. Russell, chairman of construction firm H.J. Russell & Co. and Sam Massell, former Atlanta mayor and current Buckhead Coalition president.

I might have actually looked at this house in 2007 when I purchased in Edgewood. If you are hunting the foreclosure market in Summerhill it is pretty likely some of the homes have been vandalized and need work. Perfect for the FHA 203K renovation loans.
