  • EMERGING VOICES AT CALLANWOLDE: CHARLES R. DREW CHARTER SCHOOL PERFORMERS

When/Where: Friday evening at 7:00pm in The Retreat at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center.
Why Go: An fun evening out for the whole family - storyteller LaDoris Bias-Davis coordinated this Emerging Voices storytelling event featuring the Charles R. Drew Charter School Performers.
Pricing:  Adults $3.00 and Children $1.00 at the door.

  • MARY LIN ELEMENTARY HEALTH AND WELLNESS FAIR

When/Where: Friday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Mary Lin Elementary School.  
Why Go:  Take care of Friday dinner for the family with delicious, nutritious food from local food trucks and then enjoy this event which will also include a Bike Rodeo, a bike raffle, a student-led Mary Lin garden tour and tasting, fitness and nutrition activities, and recycling relays.
Pricing:  Free to attend.  Food truck prices will vary.

When/Where: Friday evening from 5:oopm to 6:00pm at the Bessie Branham Recreation Center.
Why Go: Take your children between the ages of 4 and 12 to try this Brazilian martial art class. Children will also learn a bit about the diverse music, language and culture of Brazil - and all children (they are not separated by age or gender) are taught together in this one hour class. Grab a pizza for dinner from Urban Pie on your way home. 
Pricing: $7.00 to drop-in or $25.00 for a four class card.

  • PAJAMA PARTY 

When/Where: Saturday evening from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Imagine It! The Children’s Museum of Atlanta.
Why Go: Your children can wear PJs and bring a favorite stuffed animal to this party featuring games, stories, crafts, refreshments, face-painting, a dance-off and door prizes.  This is a popular event and tickets sell out so sign up now while you’re thinking about it!
Pricing: Members $6.00 and Guests (Non-Members) $15.00.
  *Also at Imagine It! on Saturday at 12:00pm, and included with museum admission, the Ballethnic Dance Company will lead children in Mandiani - a West African communal dance. It’s fast - get ready to move those feet!

  • LION HUNT

When/Where: Saturday at 11:00am at Barnes & Noble, Caroline Street.
Why Go: Who doesn’t love a child-friendly lion hunt? Enjoy this pre-school storytime reading of David Axtell’s beautiful picture book, We’re Going on a Lion Hunt.
Pricing: Free.
