Goodbye, Edgewood Avenue Bridge

In a matter of minutes, a 107-year-old bridge gets demolished.

OLD FOURTH WARD — After months of waiting, the long-planned demolition of the Edgewood Avenue Bridge took place April 3.

The city is replacing the span because the bridge was in danger of becoming structurally unsound.

The replacement bridge is projected to take a year with the new bridge scheduled to come online in April of 2014.
