Georgia State Wins a Big Game at Kennesaw State

Solid pitching and good run support help the Panthers clinch 6-3 victory

The Georgia State Panthers made sure they didn't come up empty handed on their trip to the Northwest Georgia Mountains, as they defeat Kennesaw State 6-3.

Jumping out to a 3-0 lead after three innings, the Panthers bats provided senior pitcher, Will Campbell, with enough run support early on, to get into his groove. Campbell pitched seven and one-third innings with four hits and two strikeouts. With the victory, Campbell improves to 5-0 on the season.

Junior third baseman Brandon Williams, senior second baseman Rob Lind and senior outfielder Ryan Fleming, all had two rbi's apiece.

The Owls lone bright spot of the night was a home run in the bottom of the fourth inning by junior first baseman, Andy Chriscaden. Kennesaw State rallied late in the ball game, but its attempt came up short as they were unable to make up the deficit. Junior Owls pitcher, Sean Fream, recorded the loss.

Georgia State hosts a weekend series against conference opponent Virginia Commonwealth University starting Friday, March 25 at 6 p.m.
