Ga. Labor Department Hosting Job Fair For Vets

Thirty employers are scheduled to participate in April 4 expo.

 

The Georgia Department of Labor’s Gwinnett Career Center and the Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Duluth will co-host a job expo for veterans and other job seekers Wednesday, April 4.

The expo is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Aviation Institute, 2025 Satellite Point, off Satellite Boulevard. Staff members will be on hand to help veterans with employment-related issues, as well as provide information from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs on service-connected disabilities and other medical services available to the vets.

The expo will feature about 30 employers, educational institutions and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers.

  • Gwinnett County Public Schools-Nutrition
  • Gwinnett County Police Department
  • Impact Staffing
  • Independent Electrical Contractors
  • Lowe’s Home Centers
  • Meggitt Training Systems
  • Pawn Mart
  • Staffing Advantage
  • The Vet Center-Lawrenceville
  • U.S. Navy Reserve
  • U.S. Secret Service

  • Veterans Support Organization
  • Wells Fargo Bank.

Some employers will be hiring, while others will be discussing future employment opportunities with job seekers. Other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings, including part time, full-time, entry-level, supervisory, and management positions.
