Five Things Happening This Week

Events and happenings of interest this week in East Atlanta Patch.

 

MON-June 18: Candler Park Neighborhood Organization meets at 7 p.m. at 470 Candler Park Dr. NE (First Existentialist Congregation of Atlanta).

TUES-June 19: Grant Park Neighborhood Association meeting, 7:30 p.m. at Zoo Atlanta, 800 Cherokee Ave. SE.

WED-June 20: Celebrate Stonewall Month by dining-in or grabbing take-out at Doc Chey's Noodle House in Grant Park, 563 Memorial Dr. SE., beginning at 5 p.m. A portion of dinner sales will be donated to the Atlanta Pride Festival. Be sure to stop by the Atlanta Pride Committee table to say hello.

THURS-June 21: The United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta hosts its "Day of Action" by engaging the community via a series of volunteer opportunities. You may pick from these volunteer opportunities at unitedwayatlanta.org/dayofaction, or you may choose to do something on your own, in your neighborhood or with your family, friends or coworkers to make a difference.

  • Atlanta Bike Polo has been around since 2008, usingthe covered basketball court at Lang Carson Park, 100 Flat Shoals Ave. SE, in Reynoldstown every Thursday from 7:30 p.m. until 11 p.m. Beginners are welcome and the group has extra bikes and mallets.
