Crime Blotter: Georgia State University

An armed robbery, strong arm robbery and armed robbery attempt since Nov. 5.

 

The Georgia State University Police Department has issued the following crime alerts:

Nov. 12 - 10:05 p.m. - Piedmont and Auburn avenues: An Armed Robbery was reported to Georgia State University Police, on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012. A GSU student was robbed of his cell phone and bag at gunpoint by three unknown individuals.

The suspects are described as three black males wearing all black hooded sweat shirts. All three were young in age. The suspect with the gun was between 5’10” and 5’11” in height, approximately 150 pounds and was wearing a black bandana over his face. All three suspects fled the area running west towards Courtland Street.

Nov. 11 - 7:10 p.m. - Piedmont Avenue and Decatur Street: A Strong Arm Robbery with Force Incident was reported to Georgia State University Police, on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012. A GSU student was approached by five unknown black males when one male snatched the victim’s cell phone and struck her in the face. The student left the area without injuries as the perpetrators fled on foot. One suspect was described as a black male wearing a black and charcoal grey hooded shirt with black hair. The second suspect was described as a black male wearing a red jacket with blue jeans and remaining suspects were similarly dressed.

Nov. 5 - 10:52 a.m. - Piedmont and Gilmer avenues: An Attempted Armed Robbery was reported to the Georgia State University Police, on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012. A GSU student reported while she was walking eastbound on Gilmer Avenue she was approached by an unknown individual who attempted to get her cell phone and threatened to shoot her. The student fled without harm according to witnesses.
The suspect is described as a brown skinned black male between 5’9” – 5’11” in height, approximately 150 pounds, brown hair and brown bulging eyes. The suspect was wearing a white hoodie with writing on the front and black basketball shorts. The gun is described as black or dark in color with a white handle.
