OLD FOURTH WARD — Condesa Coffee is recovering today from yet another break-in. 

A hand-written note on the front door informed patrons that the business was "closed until further notice due to (another) break-in. Our Apologies." 

The message alluded to the break-in that occurred two weeks ago at the same location.  Matthew Davis, Condesa's general manager, recorded a video after the first break-in, in which he shared that a pickaxe was used by the intruder to come through one of their walls.

In today's incident, a large window was visibly broken on the side of the business.  The managers of the store were not immediately available to discuss the break-in.

According to Officer John Chafee, it was "around 6:00 a.m." when officers responded to a burglary call at 480 John Wesley Dobbs Ave.  He said that, "upon arrival officers found that a rear window to the location was broken and the cash register was missing.  The business owner advised that approximately $450.00 had been inside the register." 

By coincidence, a jogger passed by the location while officers were on the scene and told them he "noticed a cash register on the ground near Sampson St and Highland Ave."  The business owner was able to identify the register as his, though the money had been removed. 

Zone 6 investigators are continuing to look through surveillance footage from nearby cameras that may have captured footage of the suspect.
