GRANT PARK — The Grant Park Security Patrol reported that a carjcacking and pedestrian robbery occurred at about 8:20 p.m. on Feb. 13.
The carjacking happened on Rosalia Street SE off Boulevard.
The victim told police he was working on his silver/gray 2002 Volkswagen Passat station wagon that was parked on Rosalia and as he sat in the driver's seat, a man pointed a black handgun at him and ordered him out of the car.
The victim thought the gunman wanted his wallet so got out of the station wagon and handed it over and ran. As he did so, he noticed another man entering the Passat and both carjackers fled the scene.
The stolen Passat is a gray with Georgia license plate No. BFP8449.
It follows last week's arrest and capture of six men suspected in a string of carjackings including the East Atlanta incidents and case in Cabbagetown from Dec. 29, 2012.
In the armed robbery incident, the vicitim told police he was walking in the 500 block of Cherokee Avenue SE, when he saw a man cross the street ahead of him and go into Grant Park.
The victim continued walking and a little while later was approached from behind by the same man who pointed a handgun at him and told him to empty his pockets.
As the victim complied, two other men approached and took his wallet and mobile phone.
All three robbers fled into the park.
It is unclear if the two incidents are related.
Detailed descriptions of the suspects were not immediately available.
