UPDATED: The Atlanta Dept. of Watershed Management lifted the boiled water advisory shortly after 8:15 p.m. June 29.
Original Posting: The Atlanta Dept. of Watershed Mangement's water advisory stemming from a power failure remains in effect until further notice.
The affected areas include parts of Reynoldstown, East Lake, Kirkwood and East Atlanta:
- Streets between I-20 to the north and Glenwood Avenue to the south and Haas Avenue to the east and Moreland Avenue to the west.
- Streets between Mauldin Street to the north and Memorial Drive to the south and Stovall Street to the east and Holtzclaw Street to the west.
- Streets between Gordon Street to the north and Cottage Grove Avenue to the south and Carter Avenue/5th Avenue to the east and Oakview Road to the west.
Customers in those areas should boil water for 1 minute past a rolling boil before using it for cooking, drinking or brushing teeth. Infants, the elderly and those with immune deficiencies should be particularly careful. If you experienced a loss of water at your address but your address is not within the area described, you may want to follow these precautions.
The Department of Watershed Management is flushing the system as a precaution and sampling the affected zones to affirm that there is no contamination in the system, as well as investigating the cause of the power interruption.
