Atlanta Police Plan Neighborhood Canvass In Grant Park Shooting Death

APD seeks information on the July 26 shooting death of David McReynolds.

The Atlanta Police Department's Homicide Unit plans to conduct a "Tactical Community Neighborhood Canvass" Aug. 30 to gather information regarding the July 26 shooting death of David McReynolds.

McReynolds, 54, was shot and killed in front of 799 Hill St., near Grant Park Place.

In addition to the Homicide Unit, the canvassing, scheduled for 4:30 p.m. also will include the Zone 6 Discretionary, CID, COPS, APEX, Crime Stoppers, Motors, and Gangs units.

Police say these neighborhood canvasses have made a significant impact in past crimes.

The canvass comes as the Grant Park Neighborhood Association voted last week to increase a reward to find his killer or killers by $500.

Crime Stoppers Atlanta is now offering $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of his killer or killers. Anyone with information is urged to call 404.577.TIPS (8477), send a text to CRIMES (274637) or submit a tip online here.

Don Wallace and CBS Outdoor is donating a billboard to Crime Stoppers with the reward information as well, so hopefully word will get out and lead to an arrest soon.
