It's been quite a busy week crimewise, with carjackings, assaults and armed robberies in our East Atlanta Patch neighborhoods.
Unfortunately, the criminals are taking advantage of any and every opportunity.
The Grant Park Parents Network issued warning regarding an incident in Glenwood Park Monday. Three teens robbed a man near the pond in the park area of the Glenwood Park neighborhood.
Following the brazen, noontime robbery, the teens escaped in a tan-colored car with the victim's wallet and mobile phone. The victim was unharmed.
Bottom line: be aware of anyone and every around you.
Separately, GPPN posted an alert regarding what may have been an armed incident in Cabbagetown Park on Tuesday. But Sam Gris, public safety chairman of the Cabbagetown Neighborhood Improvement Association, said the incident appeared suspicious, but there was no armed robbery.

It's time that people start carrying. Once these guys began to start getting a dose of their own medicine, then and only then will they leave us the hell alone. I feel like being vigilant at the moment.#batman

yes, a gun will make that situation better. would you rather lose a phone/wallet or gain a bullet in your stomach?

I think JB is under the false notion that no harm will come if you just give them what they want.

Wow, you can't even take your kids to the playground in the middle of the afternoon anymore. I can't let my wife read these reports anymore or she is going to drag me to the burbs.

Which Burbs Patch? I don't really consider Sandy Springs and Dunwoody the burbs. I live intown and work in John's Creek and never hear about this kind of stuff happening. With that said, I never want to live in the burbs. Guess I'll just get an AK-47 and start taking out some thugs.

Thanks for the neighborly coverage. However, and not to minimize these events, was a weapon involved as you mention in your article in the incident that occurred at the Cabbagetown park? I read the original post made by the Cabbagetown witness and she was specific to say she did not see a weapon. Also, she was on her porch, across from the park, not at the preschool, dropping off her children. Can you please check the accuracy and update your Patch article appropriately?

Hey, JR: I corresponded with Sam Gris public safety chair from C'Town and have updated. The activity at the park seemed suspicious but there was no armed robbery.

@Chris Let me know when you go out on the prowl to look for the thugs. I'm with ya... I have an AR 15 and I wouldn't mind using them as practice target :)

I'm curious if that this rabid pack of teens are the same ones that have been doing the rash of incidents lately since there seem to always be 4 males with a silver handgun. Thoughts?

Yes Rebecca I would bet monies they are the same thugs. And also bet the punks are from the Burbs.
Péralte Paul is there any way to get all the Patch in one place?
