Thursday marked Day 1 of practice for Georgia State's football team.
"This is where our second season officially begins,” head coach Bill Curry told the Panthers assembled before the first practice of 2011 preseason camp.
The Panthers enter the preseason with more than 70 players returning from last season — the team's inaugural — including 59 who gained actual game experience during last year.
The Panthers, who finished last year 6-5,has its season opener Sept. 2, when the Panthers host Clark Atlanta at 7:30 p.m. at the Georgia Dome.
