It may take a bloodhound to solve this dirty dog of a crime.

Atlanta police are investigating an overnight burglary of a warehouse that Grant Park's Intown Healthy Hound used to store its dog food inventory.

The break-in at the warehouse in Chosewood Park, occurred sometime after 6 p.m. on Nov. 28, when it closed for the night.

The theft was discovered Thursday morning.

In all, the dog food bandits made off with 20,000 pounds of food with a retail value of $35,000.

"I can't imagine there's a lot of street value with my brand," Intown's owner, Bridget Galloway, told East Atlanta Patch Thursday.

"It would have to be several trucks or one large truck the size of a semi tractor-trailer," she said.

The food, under the label "Pet Chef Express" is Intown's own in-store brand, so it's not as if it's a ubiquitous line of pet food.

The bags are white and have a bue and white sticker, black lettering and the Pet Chef purple logo.

Intown, which has used the warehouse facility for several years, has never had an issue there with security, she said.

She added she will be looking at installing a security system.
