Gas South is partnering with the Salvation Army’s Project SHARE to help fellow Georgians facing hardship.

Starting this month, Gas South customers can donate money on their monthly natural gas bills to contribute to Project SHARE, a program that helps needy families with food, shelter, clothing, medical supplies and utility bills.

On Dec. 11, Gas South officially launched Project SHARE by donating blankets to the Salvation Army homeless shelter in Atlanta.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to give back to the communities that we serve by partnering with Salvation Army’s Project SHARE,” Gas South President and CEO Kevin Greiner said. “As a Georgia-based company, Gas South places high importance on volunteer work and corporate giving that benefits local families year-round.”

Gas South customers can choose to donate any dollar amount through each month’s natural gas bill. For every customer contribution to Project SHARE, Gas South has pledged to match each donation up to $5.

The Salvation Army will then use the money to help families in need in each of Georgia’s 159 counties. The money collected will stay in the county from which it originates, allowing contributors to truly help their neighbors in need.

Gas South’s partnership with Project SHARE is a continuation of Gas South Cares, a year-round company commitment to community service. For the Salvation Army Georgia Division, this is an expansion of the already successful program that has provided financial assistance to more than 40,000 Georgia families in need this year.
